“NOT ME, BUT YOU”

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in the year 1969, which aimed at developing students personality through community service, it is voluntary association of young people in colleges and universities.

Motto of NSS is ‘Not Me, But You’ which reflects the essence of democratic living and uphold the need for selfless service. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole.

Navjeevan law college is also having 50 students NSS Unit. NSS programs/activities are mainly divided in to two parts-

  • Regular Activities
  • Special Camp

Regular Activities – Under the regular activities, various socially benefited programs have been conducted by NSS volunteers, such as-campus cleaning, tree plantation at various places, blood donation camp, special program on road safety measures, swacha Bharat abhiyan, adventure camp, various awareness rallies, various street plays based on social topics, etc.

Special Camp – Under this head, college adopted one village and conduct every year a seven days residential camp of NSS volunteers in that village. All the seven days students work for the villagers and for the village. In this camp with the help of teaching staff, students and villagers Gram-Swachhata, water conservation, tree plantation, free health check-up, free legal aid and various cultural programs have been conducted and organized by the collage.
